Need help from experts! for my shrimps

I think i just found out why my shrimp die. Sometimes, they would go day without dying and then when I do a water change, one or two would die. I was checking my parameters and it's all perfect including gh and KH. Well, come to find out, my tap water's nitrite is off the charts. It's completely purple/magenta colored. I will probably switch to R/O water at the stores since my tap is horrendous. Do i have to add minerals back and if i do, how exactly do i do that?

I recommend getting the Salty Shrimp additive for your type shrimp.
