We purchased these as Blackberry Shrimp, but were not given the actual name of the species. I was wondering if anyone could help- lo and behold, we have babies and I'm wanting to see if we can get breeder points on them with the club, or if we have already turned this species in. I believe they are Caridinas of some type. Google hasn't turned up much in the way of helpful results. Thanks in advance!

They kind of resemble Amano ... Though I'm thinking they could be Indian shrimp labeled Caridina cf babaulti ... A hodgepodge of Mislabeled shrimp species thrown under this label.

i think they look like a darker variant of rcs. or @ least some other kind of neo. i have rcs and watch them all the time, and they look exactly like that, only red. good luck, and enjoy ur shrimp mumma!

Snowball shrimp or some variant of Neocaridina cf. zhangjiajiensis?

I think what we can all take from this thread... they look like shrimp, of some sort.

Haha yea! Some pictures of them once in the aquarium with light overhead will help allot.

Caridina cf Babaulti would have been my first guess, but their body build doesn't resemble that of the Indian Shrimp, IMO. Their body shape seems to be a lot like the amano, so that would lead me to believe they are some type of caridina. The light blue coloration kind of throws me, but I have seen the full grown blackberry shrimp in your ads, and those do not look like blue pearls at all.

You really need much better pics to get an ID from these pics they will just be a bunch of guesses because they resemble to many of the generic shrimp out there.

If I were capable of getting better photos, I assure you I would have done so.

Blue amono shrimp. I have a few myself

They are definitely not Amanos. I am leaning toward cantonensis but I wanted them to be babaulti.
