Nerite snails and excel

Ok easy question....I hope...

I got 5 nerite snails yesterday to help control brown diatoms between water changes. I didn't think about it until right now, but is dosing Excel ok for the snails?? I have done some research but have heard mixed reviews...lights come on in a few hours and my large excel dose to follow (just did a large water change yesterday, so time for the "startup" dose)

I overdose excel at times and my 4 nerites still chug along. No issues.

I use Excel all the time and it has yet to bother any of my snails, not the Nerites, not the Sulawesis, or any other of the dozen odd species I have.
