So if you have kept or keep dwarf shrimp in a open top tank, have you had any negative experiences. Mainly with the shrimp getting away.

What I am thinking is having Spiderwood sticking out of the top and maybe allowing some plants to grow out of the top as well.

There would be Salvina Minima and lesser duckweed also floating and maybe some red rood floaters or other floating stuff.

Comments/thoughts??

There is a 15-20G little hex tank this might be a cool project in so I would like to get some input asap, probably pic up the tank tomorrow!

i have 10 shrimp tanks, 8 of them are open top, no issues. Beside one of them where i have a drift wood sticking out of the tank, i lost 18 cherries =<..... i cut the wood back so its inside the tank now. As long as you keep the water level slightly below the rim, if the tank is rimless then leave the water level at least 1 inch below.
