I noticed a molted skeleton with eggs in it. Will these hatch or are they as good as gone? Why did this happen and is it common?

You can see yellow eggs in the molted skeleton in the middle of this photo.

This happens sometimes. A first time Mom might have this happen, maybe. It can be due to stress, or it can be a premature moult due to changes in parameters at an inopportune moment in the shrimp's pregnancy.

She should be able to berry again and carry normally. The eggs are not likely to hatch unless they were very, very close to hatching at the time she moulted. If you can see eyes, they may hatch, but I would not get my hopes up too much.
