seekinghealth is correct on sand and cory cats. i guess shrimps dont mind sand.

I have Cherry and Crystal Shrimp and Corydoras habrosus in my 10g.

I use sand.
Better for Cories.
Easier for all to find food.
Easier to plant in.

My dwarf Cories don't seem to bother my Shrimp at all. I know they can eat shrimplets. But I see shrimp riding on them.

I have about 50 + Shrimp and 5 C habrosus.

Look at my siggy line for the 16 gallon. My corys don't touch even the smallest shrimplet. And I do have a sand substrate.
