Hi, have about 9 rcs in a small planted 15 litre with a male beta. He's not worried about them and I want them to breed. 27 degrees c. What should i expect next or do from here. The rcs are starting to show colour and are about 1cm long. Been in the tank 3 weeks.

Hi. 27c is a touch on the high side for cherry shrimp however mine breed very well at 26c so I shouldn't worry too much. The odds are that you have males and females so just let natures take its course. They are still a bit small to breed so you might have to wait a month or two. Provide plenty of cover, moss is ideal, as the betta will make short work of the babies. Ideally, if you want to start a colony then not having fish with them is preferable but I breed them in my community tank and also in my quarantine tank. Once they start you can't stop them!
