Hello all, I am starting a cherry shrimp tank and I notice one of them is on its back.

water ph is 7.4
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Temp 77 F

It is a planted 10g no other fish just 8 cherrys had 10 betta ate 2 so I put him in a separate 3 gallon

The tank is about a month old and has copepods in there which Ive read means the water conditions are good. So what's causing my shrimp to lay on its back? Its still alive and ocassionaly sprints through the water irratically

There isn't much you can do with sick inverts except provide the cleanest water possible. Most fish medications will kill inverts. So, just keep an eye and see how it goes, is about the only solution. Depending on the age of the shrimp, it could just be dying. They don't live for much more than a year or two once grown.

Turns out hydra were stinging all my shrimp
