I got an order of plants in yesterday. I washed them and soaked them and everything before putting them in my tank but when I woke up I found these little guys. I dont know much about snails so I was hoping you guys could tell me what these are? I have a feeling they are prolly pond snails if so how do I get rid of them not sure how many more are in the tank. I am trying to set up the tank for RCS so the tank is currently empy except for plants.

Most of them look the same but one has this spiral shell not sure if you can tell.

Also how do I prevent more comming in when I order more plants from this seller? I love the plants and was gonna order another batch.

They all look like pond snails except for the one in the middle of the dish.

The only with the spiral shell could be a ramshorn.

To get rid of them you can

1) pick them out and throw them away
2) squash as you see them (some fish will "eat" them as food after being squished)
3) get a snail trap
4) place some lettuce in the tank (must boil it for a few mins first so it's a little soft)
5) get an assassin snail - they will eat these snails

It felt horribly cruel at first to pick them out and toss them, but when you see how quickly they multiply, your feelings will likely change. :)
