Whats up with my mystery snail?

As you can see, my snail appears to have a cracked she'll or some such... It developed after hot him after a period of strange behavior... He is fine now, and is quite active, but I still want to know what's going on?

I was told that my mystery snails developed cracked, scratched looking shells because I needed more calcium in the water. But mine always died. If yours is acting normal I wouldn't worry about it.

All I can think of is calcium deficiency. Do you have hard water and high ph or add something with calcium for them?

I use some pretty good water, and I don't add any supplements to the water except for plant fertilizer and I stopped that a while ago. Thanks for the input!

I always use a chunk of cuddle bone found in the bird section of the pet stores. Throw it in and it will sink after a while. Then tuck it in wherever you want.
