One of my male Amano shrimp molted he is now hiding under the driftwood

I find that the emerge even more colorful than before. Sometimes the exoskeletons can resemble a dead shrimp. It may go back and munch on it for the minerals.

I love when the amanos molt. It means all the other shrimp in the aquarium can eat in peace for once.... lol
