Construction of leaf remover / filter underway

I bought a new pump to get more circulation in my pond & I am planning to attach a leaf catcher & filter for the inlet which I am constructing out of various plastic things from Wal-Mart, dental floss (almost as good as duct tape - very hard to break), & hot glue. I will post pics when I am done if anyone is interested.

I so love to invent things .

Yes, pics please. I always like to see [acronym:5bebe696b5="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:5bebe696b5] projects, for aquariums and ponds. You sound real creative, froggie! Good luck with it.
What kind of pump did you buy? how many [acronym:5bebe696b5="Gallons per hour"]GPH[/acronym:5bebe696b5]?

Um lets see I think we got 1600 [acronym:2c153c8563="Gallons per hour"]gph[/acronym:2c153c8563] this time. I don't want my waterfalls out of control & some of the water will be diverted to flow through the cattail bog to remove extra nutrients. Not sure on the pump brand I will have to check.

Anyway I have hopes that it will work though my husband says it is way to elaborate & that I am crazy (he just wants to algicide the pond to solve the problem EEK!! at least I have been able to veto that as long as I have other strategies.

I already knew I was crazy so onward I go.

I will post pics of that as well of gratuitous pics of my new rainwater collection system which I will use to fill my pond with (non city water - its so salty in the summertime sometimes they put out warning for people with high blood pressure not to drink it) fresh water.
