do Japanese snails work for algae problem?
I am a new pond owner and I have an algae problem. I read an article saying Japanese snails work to cut down on algae. Any comments before I go searching for these snails. My pond is about 90 gallons, so it's not very big. I thought if I started out small it would be easier to maintain. I have water hyacinth covering about 3/4th of the pond, and a few plants, although two of my plants have died and I don't know what I did wrong. I do not have fish at this time, but would like to put two gold fish in when I'm sure they will live. We have had very warm weather this summer and I must add water to the pond every two days. Maybe the tap water is causing the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Lisa |
