Made the decision, but now I have no idea what I'm doing

I've finally decided that I would like to start a pond this summer. I have absolutly no experience with ponds, what so ever. Anybody have any advice and/or know any good resourses?

Check out some books from the book store, read through some of the older posts in this forum and then ask any specific questions you might have. Enjoy your summer project

This is a book review I wrote a while back, but the book is still the best one I used. Not familiar with the others on the list, they are probably very good, I just liked the Hellen Nash book a lot.

How in depth do you want to get?
Are you going to have Koi? Plants? Or just goldfish.
How deep do you want to go?

I can second corvuscorax's recommendation of the Helen Nash book. He recomended it to me a few weeks ago and it was very helpful. My husband and I just put in our first pond this weekend. We had no experience with ponds either, so reading this book and others was our main source of information. Plus the advice from folks here was very helpful also.

The sound of our little waterfall is so soothing...you'll love having your own pond!

Thanks! I read it befor putting in my ponds and it helped me do it right, or at least avoid some MAJOR mistakes I would have otherwise made.

I always say deeper is better. Once you put the liner in, you can't go any further.
