My new pump!

I was over at my father in laws house yesterday with my wife..we started talking about the pond when he asked if I had a pump. I told him I had one that would push 2800 gallons an hour. He asked if I wanted a bigger one...for free. Ofcourse I was interested. When we got out to the shed, he pulls out a 1.5 horse power pump designed to run an above ground pool! Its huge! It just needed to have a new cord put on it, and I should be in business!

I'll take pics of it and post them once I know 100% for sure that its going to work. Right now were about 95% sure (and I will try to have it repaired if its not in working order).

Just thought I would share my excitement.

The other 1.5hp pumps that I found on line had them rated at 70gallons a min which comes out to 4200gph.

So SquisheyFish, what are you doing with the other pump? "hint hint" Are you thinking of selling it or using it as a backup?

LoL

Actually I am going to use one to move the water from the trash can I use to mix the salt water to the tank when I do water changes. And the other pump is a back up for my salt tank.

But, I did find several sites on line where you can buy a 1.5hp pump designed to run an above ground pool. The prices range from 179.00 to 199.00.
