Ok... this is stupid...

I just bought a set of Laguna Powerglo lights for my pond. It came with two 18 watt submersible lights, 18 foot cords on each, a transformer with an electric eye for automatic action, and four colored lenses all for only $99.

Got it home, got the bases weighted and everything assembled and submerged (no, I didn't read the directions!) and only then did I notice on the transformer a little note that said "Do not expose to rain." Huh?

So any suggestions how (and where) I can mount this thing? Thought it kinda odd that they sell something that is primarily used for outdoor purposes and they stamp it 'Do not expose to rain'...

Pool pumps are the same way...you solve that problem by building a pump house. I would suggest the same thing here. Just build a small box (or even a rubber maid) to sit over the top of it.

Squish, the Rubbermaid option is an amazing idea! So simple! I've checked electical supply houses for something to put over it and none have anything. The clear Rubbermaid lid can be attached to the wall with the unit on it, then just affix the bottom to it to seal it up. Absolutely incredible idea!

Can't wait to try it!

Also consider ventalation. If it needs to be vented, you can just put a few small holds on the bottom side of it.

I drilled a bunch of holes in it and left the bottom open (pic later when it stops raining out there)... but it gets too hot I guess and fails to turn on. I have to unplug it and let it sit and hour before the eye resumes activity. But at least it stays dry!
