Any more winter pics of the pond? How are the fishes? Did you overwinter them in the pond?

No pics right now, still haven't gotten rechargable batteries, and the digi. camera sucks down duracells like candy!
My de-icer on lower pond died on me like 3 weeks ago. Most winters here, the pond wont ice over for more than a couple days. Figures, this time we get a deep freeze for weeks Anyway, 3weeks with a good 3-4 inches of ice, then I got new de-icer. took 2 days to melt through, but then i looked through the hole, at least some fish still swimming around. Also, i brought in 5 babies from the pond to winter over in a tank. I found that goldies under 2-3 inches usually die over winter outside. These guys are fat and happy! ( there were 5, but one decided to try for freedom, bad decision, Mr. carpet surfer!) |
