ramshorn as toad food?
Does anybody have experience introducing ramshorn snails to their pond? I would like to hear the good and bad.
I recently acquired a ramshorn population in my tropical tank and I'm not the kind of person who can just kill them. I am a very cycle-of-life kind of person though, and would have no trouble just yanking them out of the fish tank and throwing them in my pond if I knew they wouldn't cause an issue and would provide food for the wildlife. I read in one book that toads eat snails, but there was no specific mention of ramshorn snails in this passage. I am fairly sure I do not have a snail problem in my pond, and don't want to introduce one. So experiences would be a welcome addition to this thread. Thanks, Mo |
