Slick on top of pond
I removed a bunch of leaves from the bottom of my pond, stirred up a bunch of detritus, did a PWC a couple of days ago, and then the next morning I saw a light slick over the top of my whole pond. The fish and plants all appear fine. All parameters normal. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

I would assume it's just oils and dirt, stirred up by the cleaning. Do you have a surface skimmer or a fountian and a filter? It should go away in time if you do.

I don't have a skimmer yet, it is a Spring project. I plan to upgrade to an external pressurized canister filter with inline UV sterilizer, add a waterfall, and when I do, I will put in a skimmer.
As an update, the slick has mostly broken up as of this morning. I am going to skim off what remains when I get home tonight. |
