What Bugs Harm Fish?

Okay so I have heard somewhere on this board that someon had a 1" dragonfly larvae attack their 6" fish. So are dragonflys, water skippers, or boat bugs bad for fish? I have common, comet, and oranda goldfish in my 540g. pond and I saw dragonflys breeding over it and saw a boat bug swimming about the water lettuce, so my question is is this bug dangerous? I mean you would think they would just be food for the fish. If they are dangerous what am I supposed to do to get rid of them?

This is not a big issue, but I would like to have a nice environment for my fishies-

All dragonfly/damselfly larvae, all stonefly and mayfly larvae, most larger diving beetles and all true water bugs (particularly the giant water bug).

Toirtis, do you mean they are food? I don't have a pond, but my fish eat bloodworms, which are a type of larvae -- midge fly, I think.

They are potential predators of all but very large fish.

I think that as long as you have a descent fish density, they will eat whatever insects you have before they are large enough to become a problem. I had a ton of dragonflies in my upper pond, where there were no fish, and none down in the lower parts where there were plenty of hungry fish.
