February 2016 Freshwater POTM!

The Rules

Photos must be uploaded to your photo album and the bbcode link posted in the thread. A brief description of your photo may be included. Albums are found in your profile in the right hand column. If you need assistance uploading to an album, please PM an Aquarium Advice site team member (mod/admin), and they can walk you through it. Once uploaded, you can link directly in the contest thread here using IMG tags.

One photo per member per month allowed, and the photo MUST be taken by you.

I will select the winner of the contest based on the quality of the photograph and how closely it relates to the theme this month . The winner will copy and paste this section to a new thread, where they will decide the theme of next months contest. Submissions will be accepted until the last day of the month. The winner will be announced on the first day next month and will be issued a badge.
Anyone holding a badge can post a pic but will be exempt at the final decision.
This page is for posting your pictures only, not chit chat. Failing to follow the rules is means for disqualification.

Hello everyone!

I've been thinking about this contest most of the day. I was supposed to be doing work but this has been on my mind. I thought I would pull from something we do in the SW world a little more than in the planted. For this month I want to see your 'top-down' shots. This is a unique view of the planted tank that most of us don't get to really appreciate. Most of us have tanks that are too tall to look down into or we have a canopy blocking this awesome view. So pull out that camera and show us your best topdown shots.

I'll start things off with a view of the 40b from above.

Good luck to all!

Here is my panorama of my tank from the top. I try to be artsy but not sure. Its funny because you can see bits and pieces of fish in certain spots because they obviously won't sit still for the picture.
Please ignore the ghost fish

Top view of a before and after shot of a rescape from early 2015. Not sure of the pic quality. I feel like a fish out of water on the full browser site:

Out of the running but love the idea and keen to see everyone's pictures.

This is one of the tank half full which is why the plants are draped over. Looking down on a sunken plane with the light meter on top.
