Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has kept any darters, and has any experience that could be shared for a fellow native fish keeper?

Hello. I have a few brown darters and swamp darters. They are easy going, very goby like IMO, mine love bloodworms and brine shrimp, but seem to go after flake as well. I think that different darters are different in that regard, but don't have any experience with the northern ones.

I have rainbows and greensides in a river tank build and a couple of swamp darters in a small warm tank.

I'm hooked on `em. I agree with jeta on the goby comparison.

The swamp darters remind me of little iguanas.

Will darters eat any shrimp or small fish in my tank? I have endler's and RCS and I just wanna make sure they don't get eaten

Depending on the size, I'd say yes to the shrimp (will be eaten) and maybe on the fish. I had some once they they readily took brine shrimp.

The endler's are about 1 1/2 inches, and the RCS are about 2 inches

2" RCS? I would like to see a pic of that. That's huge! I've had some over a year and they are barely an inch.
If that's the case then they (both) should be okay.
