How Big can goldfish get when they have enough room to swim?

I saw this on my local news last evening! This goldfish was caught out of a lake nearby! 15 inches and 3 pounds, much larger than the bluegill I usually catch!\

One of my co-workers has a few in his pond. Idk how big they were, but I remember seeing one and it looked pretty big. Probably at least 10+ inches.

pretty cool story from Ky too, love the legend of my grandpa tossed in the goldfish, and it grew...
