Thanks

I looked that name up and it is similar in comparison I was hoping it was a Kumonryu cuz the dark on its back is like a navy blue which can lighten up and it changes its patterns along its side and I added four more koi to the tank and the next day its face had those cool markings on it and I have two of them from two different sellers. The second one I got turned Carolina blue for a few days then it’s back turned back dark and the both scaleless.

Poor water quality can have a negative effect on the fish and the stress will cause them to darken.

What size tank?

Do you know about the nitrification cycle?

Adding a couple big fish will cause a strain on the filtering system as it isn't ready for that big of a jump in bioload.

Koi.com says that the Kumonryu would be jet black against white. Pattern changing and disappearing, that sounds like a really interesting trait. Even as an unstable line. Saying it can be blue hue when changing.

Pretty fish. Could be mixed heritage as well.

It’s a 75g tank with two 400 emperors and I canister everything is at 0 when I tested the tank but I feed them as much as they will eat and they beg all day my biggest koi is about 5-6 inches and the smallest is 2-3 or maybe 3-4 inches

Kumonryu also has a blue tint to them on eBay one with only blue and white was sold I’ll try to take a better pic of its side
