My newly finished pond

Top pond 4'x7'x12" rubber liner. bottom pond preformed roughly 7'x4'x3'. 1000 gallon pump inside quilt batting covered milk crate pumps water from the bottom pond to a waterfall in the top pond and provides the majority of the filtration. A shallow 4"wide by 1" deep creek connects the 2 ponds. The top pond also has a sponge filter to provide extra oxygen and filtration due to its shallow depth. Current stock of 6 tiny goldfish in the top pond. Thinking of adding a couple of koi to the bottom pond in the future.

Thoughts? Advice?
