Just wondering peoples thoughts on if adding rainwater to my pond is a good idea. I set up a rain barrel under my downspout and placed the overflow into my pond only after the roof had been washed off thoroughly by a good hard rain. I live in the midwest ( North Dakota) so the pollution should be at a minimum. I did it last night and im guessing added around 150 gal to my 1000 gal pond and so far everything seems to be ok. Just wondering peoples opinions. Thanks.

If rainwater affected ponds, then I think all of us pond owners would be in trouble. :)

We also use the down spout for ours. Just keep your roof and gutters free of debris and it should be fine.

Much better than city water lol. It's the way that lakes and streams fill themselves naturally. Rainwater>hosewater
