Swelled Goldfish - HELP!

This is a swelled up goldfish in our pond. My dad said we had another one like this that passed away. Any ideas what this is and what may be causing it? My dad loves his goldfish.

Does he looked like a pine cone when you look down on him? If so it's dropsy.

That's where her scales stick out right? I googled and saw that this afternoon. I will have to check that tomorrow. My dad said the other fish we had did that but it was after it got so much bigger and had been that way for a long time. This is the third fish. Our first fish only got it on one side. She lived that way for over a year. The second fish had it on both sides and lasted 6 to 8 months and it's been almost a year after we lost the first one that the second got it. Now the third one got it real quick.

No. It is swimming fine. Just really swelled up.

Please see link above .Could this be what your goldfish is suffering from? I have no experience with sick goldfish, I just did a google search to try to help out.

sometimes feeding things like bread to them can cause there stomach's to swell
