Hi i am still not sure what breed to call my fancy goldfish? She was sold as an Oranda but looks nothing like an Oranda when i googled imaged the breed. She has a calico colouring white, orange and black speckles has no wen like the Orandas i have seen. The pictures are a little old shes alot bigger now il post some clearer recent ones when i get home but if anyone has an idea what she is, be great to know. I just say shes a calico fantail!

She is really Cute!!! She looks a Lot like my Shubunkin "Pierce", but he is a Single Tail... I wish I could be more help, but I don't know anything about the Fancys.

Il add some pictures she was quite new and a baby in these pictures she has just had her own babies and her first egg lay.

No I don't use live plants I kind of like an artificial look. I don't like overtly green tanks cramped with plants. I found one fry but he died just as I had finally got the right food for him. Most of the eggs were infertile being the first ever batch hopeing for better luck next time.

Sorry it did not make it! Your tank is Cool And Fun!!! I don't like a packed Planted tank, but would like a grassy carpet and a few taller plants and then take out the fake bamboo (maybe).

Hope you have better luck next time with the eggs.

That is a calico fantail. The reason she looks lime a shubunkin ks that is exactly what she is, but the twin-tailed fancy variety. They are all the same species :)

Here are some more pics of her

She certainly can swim fast for a fancy and she is greedy at meal times too.
