Are ADF's community oriented or solitary?

Hello all, are ADF's better off as a pair or will it do ok by himself? I'm thinking of getting one, but is it better to have 2 for companionship? Or do they not care? As much as a frog could care, that is...

I have 2 together and they occasionally attack each other bit nothing serious. The same way 2 oscars jaw lock to test each others strength. I don't see a problem with keeping 2 together.
