Picking up my newt today!

I guys, yep, I'm going to go and pick up my newt today, so excited! Here is his tank

That's really cool, I'm interested now...how big do they get?
 
Hi yea, they are great to watch, mine seem to like climbing up all of the plants and hanging around on them! They are one of the only newts that are 100% aquatic, they can get to 6 - 7 inches fully grown
 
He's in a 10 gallon with sand, a few plants and some mopani wood :)
 
This is cool, because the other newts, the ones that are not fully aquatic, are boooooring. They spend most of the time outside the water in top, just hiding.
Yours sounds pretty cool to watch
 
They are best kept on their own or in a species only tank. If they are in a species only tank, they must have lots of hiding places, be well fed and the tank must be at least 15 gallons. If not then they will tear limbs of each other
