I am about to purchase a 40 gallon breeder for my male red eared slider. What is the best and reasonably priced canister filter? I've been researching for awhile and can't figure out which one I want to purchase. Eheim's I've heard are the cream of the crop, but are a little too pricey. Thoughts, suggestions, comments, concerns! All of your help would be beneficial!

Do you have both of them on one tank? How big is your tank?

I have one running on a 180 and I have the other on a 29 gallon sump that I don't run all the time. But I have a couple catfish 40-50 african Cichlids and a turtle

Just remember that red ears require much more room than a 40 breeder as adults, much closer to 100 gallons to me happy and healthy. As for filtration, you always want to try and have a filter(s) rated for DOUBLE what the tank is, if not triple. Turtles are notoriously messy and therefore need a large filter to handle their waste
