I was talking about the turtle the argument I could care less about nor was contributing too!

I had same problem. I think it was just chewing, not eating. But either way I took ot out and used a spare 10 gallon full of sand to use as basking area. Just sat it in there. I was using a 75 gallon tank for turtles, which is how it fit. Don't know if that's an option.
