1 snail/crab per gal?

The petstore told me that its best to have 1 snail or crab per gal.

if I have a 10 gal tank, 10 crabs? I want to know what you guys think.

I'm not sure about 1 crab per gallon. But 1 snail per gallon works well.

right now, I have 5 nassarius snails, 4 turbo's and about 4 bumblebee snails (I know, bad to have bumblebee snails, but parents got them for me without permission. they've been good) and thinking of getting some more crabs (2-4 blue legged hermit crabs)

Im getting alot of algea on my sand, want something to eat it all up
