I just started keeping saltwater fish and I am seriously hooked. I would like to convert my 100 gf tank into a reef tank in the next year or two. Heres what I have already: tank, nice stand (oceanic I believe), two fluval 404s, prizm skimmer, and the cheapy flourescent fixtures that came with it. I can buy the canopy locally for 250 bucks. I was looking at some cf + metal halide fixtures, anyone use these or recommend one? Do I need a big wet/dry system? Any recommendations? Thanks!

you don't need a big wet/dry system...a big sump and a fuge would be nice to have though
the bioballs in a wet dry system arent the best thing for a reef because they produce a lot of nitrates
I have a prizm on my 55 and would not recomend it to anyone
everyone seems to rave about the aqua c (?) skimmers though, i am thinking about getting one myself
