1st time using wet dry overflow box HELP!

Hello world,
Just got my 1st wet dry with over flow but kind of confused on how to get it flowing to the sump,
Can A master aquarist tell me how to get it to flow into the sump?

You need to remove air so the overflow can syphon.
Depending on what type of overflow box you have you will either use the alive on top with a Toms pump, or you have to stick a air hose into the tube and draw air out to start syphon.
What type of overflow do you have(picture)?
