Hey all!

This is my first reef build and I have been having trouble getting answers for a couple of things.

lighting- What lighting would be sufficient for my 20 long? I would want the lighting to sustain pretty much any coral I wish to put in the tank. I have also built a canopy and really prefer using the canopy. The canopy is only 5 inches deep so the lighting will basically be sitting right on top of the water....is that too close? Will the fact that the light is so close to such a shallow tank mean that such a reef tank will require less powerful lights?

return pump- I built an overflow box, drilled the back of my tank, and secured the box to the tank. I'm going with a "herbie" overflow and went with 1/2 inch drains..(main drain and back-up). The pump needs to pump water from the bottom of my sump, up 3 feet to the display tank.
