Hey guys,

I want to run an idea by whoever reads this to see if someone has done this before. Im just got a 20g long and i want to basically take a piece of black acrylic or plexiglass and create a small space behind the front part of the tank, kinda like section off a back portion of the tank for a hob and heater, etc. Cut some holes on top for surface skimming. Basically when you look at the tank you will see a black background but behind the black will be the section with the hob and stuff. Anyone done this before? I know ive see some acrylic tanks with this pre made.

Sure you can, it will basically be like an intank sump ;) The problem I see is creating a good bond between the acryllic and glass.

Ya im sure i can make a good seal. I found a company named Tru Vu that does the same thing but with bioballs in the back. I can just copy their design.
