maybe once you get an actual bioload in your tank your skimmer will level out

I almost went with the Royal Grandma. If I remember correctly, the only reason I choose the 6 Line Wrasse was because in the long run I thought it looked better. The six line are very active and constantly covering the entire tank and swimming in and out of the rocks. It amazes me what holes he can fit through.

Corals do add to the bio load but not as much as fish. You can either add several corals or a couple of fish or one of each. I wouldn't do anymore than that though to start. Then give it a week and do it again.

Looking forward to some pictures.

Recommendations for final water change before fish?

Change the water out the night before and the next day go get a couple lil fish?

Maybe to drop your nitrates good and low. But if all your numbers are good I don't see why you should

royal gramma's are fun and are able to hold their own against semi-aggressive fish. I got mine with 2 clarkii's that were already established. at first he would stay in the rockwork but now he is out and about (keep in mind these fish are known to hang around caves and stuff though)

Ok so finnnnnally got some life in this thing...well not yet....got 2 true percula clownfish...they have been drip aclimating for almost 2 hours now. More photos to come...

Also put an AC 20 impeller in to reduce the filter flow and cut back micro bubbles.
