Sorry for the poor picture of the clowns (I have named them Itchy and Scratchy :P), they won't stay still! The clowns are about 1.5" long, and the elegance is a baby, only 2.5" long.

I bought frozen mysis shrimp. I put some in and they only went for certain ones, like some looked bad to them or something? No matter how many times that shrimp went flying past them they ignored it.

They also seemed to spit out what looked like the head or tail or the shrimps after eating one, is this normal?

One other thing, since waking up this morning I noticed they aren't really swimming together like they were when I first introduced them. The slightly bigger one clearly thinks he runs the show, he does these little darts towards the other one and looks like he pretends to nip at him. When he stop doing this? He has been doing it every now and then since adding them last night.

Hey guys, just tested phosphates for the first time with my new hanna egg tester, and it's a 1.15..

I tested the NSW I use from my LFS and it's phosphates are .04, and the RO water is 0.0.

I'm assuming it's not the water I'm using causing the high phosphates as the level is only .04 in the NSW, which shouldn't cause a high reading of 1.15 should it?

If not, what else in a new tank could be causing high phosphate? I've got algae ATM on the back and side glass, which you can just barely see on the photo.

No one likes my new fishies? Or coral? Or knows why my phosphate would be high?

Anyone have any insight as to why my phosphate is so high (1.15) so early in the tank's life?

Are you using ro/di water? Thats the one thing I can come up with....also if you are it might be worth a test of the source water to be sure. I had one LFS selling me ro/di water with phosphates and nitrates in it. :-(

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.
