So my grandma gave me an old 55g and stand. I currently have a 29g with a custom wet/dry filter I made myself out of a storage bin. Its really to much filter for this small of a tank. So I can't decide whether I should rob it and set it up on my 55 or just buy a HOB for it. Would you guys reccomend the marineland emperor 70 for salt? I'm new to all this but ETREMELY interested so I would love your opinions thanks!

I had both. Emperors are good, but I think you will be better off with an Aquaclear 110 HOB filter because you can fit much more stuff inside the Aquaclear.

What kind of mechanical filtration do you have with the wet/dry filter?

Hey sorry I haven't been on in forever!! My 29g filter consisted of 2 layers of filter floss, then about 3 inches of gravel, then there was airrated cut up pvc for the bio. It kept my tank CRYSTAL clear and my parimiters were all in check too. Any suggestion on improvement?
