Hey everyone just getting into this hobby and I finally think I'm ready to start cycling my tank . just starting with a fowlr. Here is a list of Equipment and stuff:

90 gallon tank
90 pounds of mixed Dry live rock. ( Pukani, reef saver, tonga shelf)
60 pounds special grade arag-alive reef sand
2 Koralia evo 850s
bubble Magnus curve 7
life reef single over flow
Danner Mag drive 12
Refractometer
250 watt Eheim heater
Instant ocean 200 gallon mix
tetra easy strips

I think that is it so far. do I need a sump while cycling? I plan on having a sump just haven't got around to it yet. any input would be helpful.

My only suggestion would be to get better test kits and not use the test strips. API is good for a beginner or you take it up a step with red sea, nyos, or salifert my top 3 favorite test kits right there. Other than that everything else looks good to me.

Ok thanks I'll check out those kits. Do you think 60 pounds of sand will be enough or should I get another bag?

60lbs will be cutting it close , I used 75lbs in mine for a inch and a 1/2 base , I also didn't add sand under the rocks just up to them ,
