Welcome!! Always great to see a convert from the saltwater ranks. lol I agree with the others, your stocking is okay, but then I have been known to need a shoehorn to get all the fish in .............
As for the Eclipse filter. I have never used one. But, I looked long and hard before deciding not to go with one for a 10 gal
. I searched here and elsewhere, took one apart in the store, etc. It looked neat ........ but I had concerns about the media. I am not fond of manufacturer filter cartridges. I have an emperor HOB
and and the arrangement for the media is my big gripe with it. Also I found comments from people with an Eclipse saying theirs had overflowed out the back of the tank when the filter media got too clogged. Looking at one I don't think that could happen, but the water flow could easily bypass and go straight to the biowheel. As yours seems to. You might want to try what I have for my emperor. I use bulk filter sheets, the blue/white ones. Same as in the cartridges, and cut pieces to fit. And stuff the rest with filter floss. Risnse the pad and dump the floss when it is too grungy. Works great!
Now of course, a plug for the HOB
I buy now ....... the Aquaclear!! It seems to be the HOB
of choice around here, with good reason. They are quiet, efficient, the media is easy to work on, and you can stuff it iwth just about anything. I use the sponge that comes with, along with the biomax. These are the cylinders for nitrifing bacteria to live on. And fill the rest with filter floss. Cleaning it takes a few minutes and it works fantastic. Even on a tank with the little poop machines. You know, the plecos. LOL
Sorry for rambling on, just realised how wordy I am today. Good luck with the salt free tank!!!!!!!!!!
