If I lined a 5 gallon bucket with a trash bag would that hurt the fish

I acquired a 5 gallon bucket and was just wondering if I should go buy a new 1 or if I could put a trash bag in it and they would be fine

I wold just go buy a new one there cheap enough and you know it was used just for acclimation.
