Here is a link to two excellent methods for livestock acclimation. I have used the floating method to introduce my cleanup crew and will use it for other inverts and fish.

Are you using a QT tank? If so I’d review the first & second articles at advancedaquarist.com.

Matching the ph/sg to the same level as the lfs or online site you get your fish from is much less stressful. Over the course of a couple of weeks you can then slowly raise your ph/sg to the same level as your tank.

Make sure you acclimate inverts and fish in different buckets....
