Well i cleaned it the best i could and it is still blackish but definitely not as black as it used to be... what i noticed was this rock has a lot of of 3in holes with sponges in them. I don't think i have enough sand in my tank i had more than enough in the 55gal but in the 80 its about 1in tall. Will it be alright if i buy a bag of live sand and add it?

80gal tank, 150lbs lr, 2x250w 14k mh
Fish: Emperor angel, 2 maroon clowns, blue tang, 6 line wrasse

Adding the LS will probably add more die off to your tank. You could add dry (dead) sand, but will cloud the water up. Your call. Even adding a bag of LS to an established tank will cause a spike, depending on how much LS and LR is already in the tank will determine how big of a spike. HTH
