Adding a Wavemaker?

Well, I think I'm going to add a wavemaker.

My Xenia is not a fan of the Maxi-Jet 1200s, so I think in that area a smaller Maxi-Jet 400. And another Maxi-Jet 400 on the backside as well as my normal 2 Maxi-Jet 1200s.

So the question is:

Do I spend the cash on the Red Sea Wavemaster Pro or would the Aquarium Systems Natural Wave Multi-Cycle Pump Timer work? It's a $70 difference.

The red sea wavemaker is much better. It has a soft start feature that will increase pump life signifigantly over the wavestrip. Plus the feed button is nice.

I kinda thought that was going to be the case. You tend to get what you pay for.

I haven't used anything but the wavemaster, so a comparison is not what I'm offering.

But I love my Wavemaster pro. I guess you know it's intermittent. I think my corals have reacted very well to that. Also got the 8hr nite mode for calmer water. The feeding cycle at the push of a button and the 4 level setting for the various types of tank life.

I think it was $120 somtheing bought and shipped from Marine depot.

I have the Redsea wavemaster pro and recommend it.

I have 2 1200 maxi-jets and 2 900 maxi-jets and the flow in my tank is very good

I use the 1200's on each side of the tank to ripple the surface and the 900's create a current throught the tank

That's kind of my plan. A couple 1200s at topwater, a couple of 400s lower and my sump return should be good.
