I'd like to add a small snail or two or crab, or other critters, to my 1 1/2 month old setup. There is alot of what I assume is diotame algae, the brown algae, and I've read that these may clean it up a bit. Would it be safe to do so? Right now the nitrite/nitrate is peaked but is beginning to drop. Would this be safe or recommended??

I would not recommend until at least your nitrite and ammonia are at 0 your nitrates should also be under 40ppm When your at that point it should be safe to add those inverts..
