advice on skimmer

hello i am turning my 72g fresh water into a sw i need a new protein skimmer any advice on one for 72g i was going to order from foster and smith but not sure which one is good for the money. thanks and i have a big canister filter that was fresh water can i use the same filter pads for the sw idk if the bacteria will be the same and or trasfer over . thanks for the help!

It`s not the same bacteria. No need to transfer over. As a matter of fact I would not use it. Plenty of LR and a skimmer with some PH`s to push the water around will be enough. As far as the skimmer Octopus makes the best IMO. Check out their line.

yeah i would go with a reef octopus or a cpr bak pac
