It is my understanding that Aiptasia can muliply by pod-fracture-reproduction. That is apparently why you should never pluck, scrub or physically remove them from rock. The remaining fractured pod will eventually reproduce into several Aiptasia where there was only one.

Ya just gotta kill em'.

I had the same problem. I was injecting them boiling hot water with a syringe that we use on our cattle. This seemed to work for a while but they still came back. I got some kalkwasser(calcium hydroxide) from my LFS and that seems to be working better at arradicating them.
