You might want to think about getting your own test kit, rather than having to rely on the lfs

Diatoms are strictly from being a new tank .
And diatoms feed on silicates .
They will go away as soon as the silicates are consumed by the diatoms .
Nothing to worry about , but I still think it's too new for a nem .
But as a man once told me before ,
If you want something bad enough you will get it .
Keep a eye on the nem . If you start noticing it losing colour ( bleaching )
It's mouth staying opening ( gaping )
Wondering a lot
Or it not attaching to anything look for a stable home for it

Ya ive kept a couple nems before if anything i got a place where i can take it, just worried about the bubbles that look kinda snotty? Like dino and the stringy stuff by the zoas, and no i dont have a tds, always say ima buy one but never do

That is very true, they will go away.

I am looking for a tds meter .
But I will say .
I use API test drops .
And never had a issue with a faulty reading .
Water changes every week
I use a refractometer for testing salinity
RODI water
Reef grade salt
Because I have 45+ corals and frags I had to start dosing alk/cal buffers .( bionic )
But other then that everything is growing and looks amazing .

Yeah, I finally got one myself. It's kind of interesting to check after storms are around and see the difference in solids in the water. Crazy swings sometimes

Funny thing the bottled water we think is clean has higher TDS than most tap water .

I just tried but it said my upload exceeded by 202kb

Noticed the same thing, but it's mineral water, I guess I should have expected that.

For salt, I tried fluval reef salt recently, I'm kind of loving it right now. Came out at 420 calcium, 1300 magnesium, and 8.2 ph
